Hair loss is one of the most common problems affecting both men and women. Hair loss is not just affect one’s physical appearance but it can also have a significant psychological impact. Research shows that people who experience hair loss often feel depressed and have high levels of anxiety.

1. Aloe Vera
Aloe vera is an effective home remedy for hair loss. It contains proteolytic enzymes that directly promote healthy hair growth. It works to sooth and calm a damaged scalp, creating a healthy environment for hair cells to replenish and flourish. Certain enzymes found in aloe vera such as proteolytic enzymes also helps clean up sebum, an oil that clogs follicles and prevents hair from growing back.
Take a stalk of aloe vera and extract the pulp, then apply it to your scalp and leave it for about 45 minutes. Rinse with water. Do this three to four times a week to get better results.
Since hair is made of protein, adequate intake of protein is necessary for healthy hair. Eggs are one of the excellent source of protein and amino acids. They are also packed with zinc, iron, selenium, sulfur, and phosphorus. All of these nutrients promote hair growth.
To use eggs as hair loss treatment at home, break an egg in a bowl and remove the yolk. Add few tablespoons of olive oil and blend it properly. Now, apply the mixture to your hair and scalp. Leave it on for 15 minutes and then rinse off with water and a mild shampoo. Do this procedure once a week for good results.
3. Fenugreek Seeds
Fenugreek seed is among the most effective home remedies for hair loss. Fenugreek seeds contain a hormone called antecedents that helps repair hair follicles and promote hair growth. They also contain proteins and nicotinic acid that strengthen the hair shaft and make your hair strong and shiny.
To get the benefits from Fenugreek seeds, soak one cup of the seeds in water overnight and then grind it into a paste using mortar and pestle. Apply the paste to your hair and scalp, and leave the paste on your head for about 30 minutes. You can cover your scalp using a shower cap to keep it moist. After 30 to 40 minutes, rinse off with normal water. For best result, repeat once a day for 4 weeks.
4. Indian Goose Berry
Indian Goose Berry, or also known as Alma, is a popular remedy used in Ayurveda for healthy hair growth. Indian gooseberry is packed full of vitamin C as well as other antioxidant, antibacterial, anti-inflammatory, and exfoliating properties, all of which help maintain a healthy scalp and promote hair growth.
Simply mix 1 tbsp of Indian gooseberry with 2 tbsp lemon juice and apply this mixture on the scalp. Massage your scalp thoroughly then leave it for one hour. Rinse off with warm water.
5. Honey, Cinnamon and Olive Oil
Honey helps to strengthen the hair roots and promotes shiny hair; the cinnamon helps to grow hair quickly and prevent split ends; and the olive oil helps fight dandruff and acts conditioner.
To make this remedy, mix 1 tbsp of honey in equal amount of extra virgin olive oil. Add 1 teaspoon of cinnamon powder to the mixture and apply the paste into your hair. Leave it on for 15 minutes and then rinse off with lukewarm water. For better results, do this treatment at least once a week.
Onions are great sources of sulfur content, which stimulates blood circulation to the scalp and regenerate hair follicles. Onions also contain antibacterial agents that fight microorganisms, causing hair loss and other problems, like dandruff.
Take two to three onions and grate them to extract the juice. Apply this juice on the scalp and leave it on for 20 to 30 minutes. Then wash your hair using normal water and a mild shampoo. Follow this procedure once a week and see the difference.
Beetroot is another great remedy for treating hair loss. It contains all the essential nutrients for the hair growth like vitamin B & C, calcium, potassium, phosphorous, and protein. The nutrients present in beetroot can facilitate hair growth. So, drink beetroot juice frequently.
Alternately, you can mix beetroot juice with a little ginger and apply it on your scalp. Keep it on for 20 minutes and wash it off. This is a good way to treat hair loss and control dandruff.
