Medical negligence can be a disaster for anyone who suffers from it but the increase in suits against doctors claiming medical negligence has had unexpected effects.

There has been a steady rise in the number of compensation claim against doctors in the last decade. Doctors who deliver babies are the hardest hit. Because of the nature of giving birth there is a higher risk for problems then with less complicated procedures.

Many doctors have given up delivering babies at all because of the risks involved. This is a shame because it means that many expectant mothers do not get their own family doctor or baby doctor to deliver because of worries of a medical negligence claim.

If a doctor is sued for medical negligence his insurance can go up so much he may not be able to afford to practice. This is one side of the increase in suits for medical or hospital negligence that has had unexpected effects.

Recently a research with mice shows that intravenous doses of vitamin C could able one day reduce the size of cancerous tumors in any people. But the finding results are preliminary and it is necessary to be confirmed in human body. On the other hand, even if the treatment gets success then it is not a cure but it may be used in combination with other drugs for treatment.

The researchers said:

There’s potential promise that [vitamin C] is part of the armamentarium for treating some cancers.

And they try to more research to find out it properly.

The new researches suggest that intravenous vitamin C produced hydrogen peroxide and it is proceeded to reduce cancerous tumors in the mice by 43% to 51%. The observed mice had pancreatic, ovarian as well as brain cancer. It is not clear to the researchers why some cancerous tumors are immune to the treatment and on the other hand, others are not. But the researchers hope that it is possible to intravenously boost levels of vitamin C in human bodies to the levels used in the mice.
