The day is a dream for Sonepat inhabitants as Congress President Sonia Gandhi is going to lay the foundation stone of a medical college for women in Bhagat Phool Singh Mahila Vishwavidyalaya at Khanpur Kalan village of Sonepat today. At same time Sonia will unveil the statue of Bhagat Phool Singh in the campus as well. Sources said she is likely to address a public meeting at the college campus later in the day.
She was scheduled to visit the village on last 9 February. That time her visit was cancelled due to the sudden death of Ranbir Singh Hooda. Ranbir Singh was a veteran freedom fighter and father of Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda.
After doing Sonepat’s schedule work, Sonia will visit Uchana Kalan village. Here she will inaugurate the Rajiv Gandhi Mahavidyalya. According to Haryana Finance Minister Birender Singh, Sonia would unveil a statue of Rajiv Gandhi. She would also dedicate the educational institute to the people of the state.
